|Welcome to the Pacific Northwest Psychoanalytic Society (PNPS) Web site. If you are looking for a psychoanalytic therapist, please click here.|
PNPS is the local chapter of Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) of the American Psychological Association. As a group, we are dedicated to the study and dissemination of psychoanalytic concepts and ideas, along with the application of psychoanalytic thought to both classic analysis and psychodynamic psychotherapy. We are particularly fortunate in the Seattle area to have four functioning training institutes, three in psychoanalysis and one in Jungian analysis. PNPS has been able to draw upon the talents of many people from all four institutes in sponsoring seminars, special presentations and monthly scientific meetings.
October through May of each year, PNPS sponsors monthly professional meetings for clinicians. The meetings are organized around a presentation followed by discussion. By design, our meetings are fairly small and congenial. We meet in members' homes, typically with 10 to 15 people attending. Host homes open at 7:00 pm for refreshments and conversation before each meeting. The meetings are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. For psychologists, each meeting counts for 2 hours of CPE credit. The meetings are free for PNPS members, and since membership costs $60 per year, it is a very inexpensive way to earn CPE credit. Non-member clinicians are welcome to attend a meeting for a nominal $15 fee. State licensed psychotherapists who are current PNPS members will be listed in the membership directory of our Website.
To start or renew your membership, please complete the PNPS Membership Form.
